Did Ya Miss Me?

In case anyone out there thought I had left the blogosphere for good, I just wanted to write a quick one to let you know, in the words of a totally campy Randy Quaid (wait…as if anything Randy Quaid does isn’t campy) “Hello boys!  I’m BAAAACK!”

I took the girls on a little trip to see Mickey and the gang in sunny Florida.  I have to admit, I loved every minute of it.  We had a ball.  Caroline was fascinated by Minnie from a distance (you should hear her say her name), yet wanted nothing to do with her up close.  We got to see Cinderella’s castle, fly with Dumbo, laugh with Mike Wisowski from Monster’s Inc, and even rock out with Steven Tyler and Aerosmith.  Oh, and our hotel had its very own live alligator living in the lake out back.  This was the lake right beside the sidewalk that led to the business center.  Now you know why there was no “on-site” blogging.  It was quite the trip.
We also got our first taste of the “crib-less” life.  That meant, at any point during the night, Caroline could “magically” appear at bedside.  It’s a heart-pounding experience to open your eyes and see a silhouette of your little one standing over you.  Not sure I’m ready for life out of the crib yet.
I’m still trying to figure out which one of the girls enjoyed it more, Caroline or her mom.  When we arrived at the Magic Kingdom for our first day, we got there in time to see the big to-do of them bringing Mickey in on the train and opening the gates.  I think Amanda was about as excited as my brother when the Sox won in ’04.  Actually, she may have been even more excited.  It was one of the moments I’ll never forget, because it was one of those times you forget about everything else, and just smile.  It was one of those moments when you realize just how blessed you are.
And, just in case you were wondering, I’ve not gone soft.  I’ve got some stuff Ted will love churning on the back burner for later.  New posts soon!
