Look to Him

Tonight we celebrated Communion at our church.  A friend of mine, who is a deacon there, taught from Isaiah 9:

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
He challenged us to focus on this prophecy that foretold the coming of Jesus Christ, 700 years before His birth.  In a world that seems to be crumbling all around us, look to Jesus.  In the midst of a crazy presidential election, look to the One on Whose shoulders all governments rest.  In a time of war, look to the Prince of Peace (the peace that passes all understanding).  Look to the One True God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit as shown in this prophecy.
When all else seems like shifting sand, look to Jesus, the One Who knows the end from the beginning.
Nothing that’s happening surprises Him.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
