I really can’t express what was going through my mind at this moment.
Standing in the middle of Times Square is quite the experience. This
city is one huge assault on the senses. I was listening to Sandra
McCracken’s “Abiding City”, which contains the line “We have no
abiding city here.” The dichotomy between the world and the Kingdom
has never been more pronounced. All around me were flashing
advertisements for everything imaginable in this world. And my
earbuds were filling my ears with the truth that I am not of this world.
And I am definitely not of this city. It’s crazy big. It’s so big I
feel claustrophobic, if that makes sense.
I’m going to kiss my yard when I get home.
